BECOME A PARTICIPANT
Participants have a range of skills, abilities, needs and goals. Individuals interested in joining Venturers must be adults capable of physical activity, adapt to the natural environment (weather, terrain, etc.), thrive in a group setting and have goals which can be achieved through Venturers activities. A healthy interest in the outdoors is crucial as we spend 80% of our time in nature.
To become a member of our program, participants must meet Alberta Human Services - Disability Services funding requirements and then be referred by their Disability Services Caseworker in either Calgary or Medicine Hat.
New participants are welcome but we may have a waitlist. Interested individuals are encouraged to call us with questions. We are here to help!
CAREERS
The Venturers Society is looking for the right person who loves working with people and would love to have their office in the outdoors. We work alongside the people we support and help people with developmental disabilities become active and contributing members of their community. We are active in Alberta Parks and recreation camps near Calgary. You must be able to work independently Monday-Friday, drive outside the city and get a Vulnerable Sector Police Check. VOLUNTEER
We love to meet people with additional skills and have various inside and outdoor opportunities available throughout the year. Over the years, a number of volunteers have joined us to share their energy and expertise to support our participants and staff. Volunteers with direct participant contact must provide current Vulnerable Sector checks. Contact us to see what is currently available.
